Job growth in metro Denver coupled with a historic low number of resale residential homes on the market are fueling a significant increase in the number of new homes.

Job growth: A look at Denver’s employment estimates showed 40,200 jobs were added to the metro Denver market in just the last 12 months.

Number of new homes: Homebuilders started 1,375 homes in the fourth quarter of 2012, an 88 percent increase from the same quarter in 2011 when 733 new homes were started.
